Top-10 Thursday: Let's Play Dress-up
I have a friend who likes to watch "Bonnet movies," meaning period pieces about women. I thought this would make a good top-10 list, sort of. I didn't quite go to whole mile and find the best victorian-era films. Instead, these are the best costumed movie, listed from least to most crazy. These aren't all necessarily good films, but they are sure to bombard the eyes.
-
10. The Last of the Mohicans — I was very bored watching this movie, although it could be that I watched in a classroom for a class called "Sport in Film and Literature." We were told to "pay attention to the deer."
-
9. Chicago - Spectacularly choreographed with even more spectacular wardrobe.
-
8. Grease - If you haven't seen this movie then you probably aren't likely to care about this list.
-
7. Hook - A bit of a surprise here, but it's a highly entertaining film with wonderful costumes for every character.
-
6. Beetlejuice - Enough said. Just watch the trailer.
-
5. The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert - If you remember nothing about the plot or the story, you will surely remember some of the things the characters wore in this.
-
4. Labyrinth - Crazy only begins to describe the make up and costumes here.
-
3. Pride and Prejudice - The book was terrible, as was the movie, but this is the film my friend watches as often as she can because she loves those dresses and hats.
-
2. Amadeus - Another period film that is also one of the best films of all-time.
-
1. Moulin Rouge - If an acid trip is ever filmed, it will look a lot like this movie.
