Massena event called off after wrestler's death

MASSENA — Due to the death of Massena High School wrestler Robert Rochefort, the annual Massena peewee tournament, scheduled for Saturday at the school gymnasium, has been postponed. Organizers hope to reschedule the event for Feb. 20.

Rochefort, who was 17, died late Tuesday afternoon in a one-car accident at Route 37 and East Orvis Street. He was driving westbound on Route 37 shortly after 5 p.m. when his vehicle left the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole on the driver's side.
