Collis Maddox generated 21 points and assisted four other baskets to lead Jefferson Community College to an 80-69 upset victory over Tompkins Cortland CC in a Mid State Athletic Conference matchup Wednesday night at JCC.
Tompkins Cortland, which led by three points at halftime, was ranked fourth in the nation for Division III junior colleges and third in Region 3.
Nick D'Alessandro pitched in with 19 points and seven rebounds, while James Biggs put up 14 points and pulled down 20 rebounds for the Cannoneers. Cesar Silva posted 10 points, four blocks and six steals, and Nick Donnelly grabbed eight rebounds for JCC (9-14, 3-6).
Greg Mudge dropped in 16 points to lead Tompkins Cortland (15-4, 8-1), which connected for 10 of its 11 3-pointers in the first half.
■ In the women's game, Kyla Knapp produced 20 points to lead Tompkins Cortland to a 76-67 MSAC victory over Jefferson.
Mackenzie Stilwell added 14 points for TCCC (10-9, 5-4).
For the Cannoneers, Nicole Perry recorded 24 points, including five 3-pointers, and four assists. Alicia Bradberry tallied 12 points and nine rebounds, while Tara Gervera also grabbed nine rebounds. Alicia Uhlein added four assists and five steals for JCC (10-13, 4-5).
