Demolition derby slated in Gouverneur on Feb. 28

GOUVERNEUR — The Gouverneur & St. Lawrence County Fair will sponsor a winter demolition derby at 1 p.m. Feb. 28.

The fair started the event several years ago as a way to break up the winter and raise money. The entry fee will be $20 per car. Heat winners receive a 75 percent payback. The champion receives a trophy and $350.

Participants may preregister or enter after 10 a.m. on the day of the derby. Entry applications may be picked up at Newvine's Auto Parts or G&R Auto Parts. Admission is $10.
