CANTON — The second murder trial of Wayne T. Oxley Jr. has been postponed until at least June.

St. Lawrence County Court Judge Jerome J. Richards said Wednesday that the trial, scheduled to start next week, was postponed without a set date. He indicated during a motion hearing that the trial would be pushed back at least two or three months.

Oxley, 44, formerly of 1022 New York Ave., Ogdensburg, was sentenced in December 2006 on a second-degree murder charge. He was convicted of killing his neighbor, Bernard A. Trickey Jr., with a baseball bat. A state appellate court in July ordered a new trial for Oxley.

Oxley remains in St. Lawrence County jail on $75,000 bail or $150,000 bond.
