OGDENSBURG — Funeral services for Patrick J. Robillard; RN, age 89 of 531 Patterson Street in Ogdensburg, will be held on Saturday (March 13, 2010) at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Rev. Terry R. LaValley officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Foxwood Memorial Park.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Robillard passed away on Tuesday (March 9, 2010) at the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Surviving are three sons Paul Robillard of Ogdensburg, Richard Robillard & his wife Georgiana of Chester, NY and Ronald Robillard & his wife Stephanie of Billingham, WA; two sister's Marie Dowdall of Ogdensburg and Sister Mary Henrita Robillard of Lincoln, NE; a brother Paul Robillard & his wife Emma Jean of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Jama, Jeremy, Gabriel & her husband Russ & Lisa, a great-grandchild Koral and several nieces, nephews & cousins.
Patrick was predeceased by his wife Carmela, two sons Lawrence & Michael Robillard and a daughter Cathy Anne Robillard.
He was born on March 17, 1920 in Cleveland, OH a son of the late Henry & Mary (Revell) Robillard. He graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1938 and continued his education at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center School of Nursing and received his register nursing degree. In September of 1942, he enlisted in the US Navy and married Carmela Delia on November 22, 1942 in New York City. He was honorably discharge from the US Navy on November 15, 1945, and returned to the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center where he worked as a register nurse until 1976, but continued providing nursing care as a private duty nurse until 1979 when he fully retired.
He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Cathedral, and a member of the Knight of Columbus and American Legion. He enjoyed traveling, remodeling his home, reading, square dancing, gardening and raising fruit trees.
