It's a wonder people don't become so skeptical they start rooting for global warming.

All these elections are about is who gets to spend the money. As neoconservative Fred Barnes once said, "Big government isn't bad if we're running it." So don't give me this "Tea Party" anti-big government stuff.

New York state taxpayers alone have spent $93 billion on Afghanistan. Now we want to build a missile system in Europe to keep Iran from taking out Switzerland.

So how come these people are making such a politically quick comeback? Well, again it's the media. First you have the reporter media. Then you have the opinion media, the one that gave Tokyo Rose a lifetime achievement award. They tell you whom to vote for. A little trick of theirs is to attack the mainstream media, even though they are the mainstream media.

It would be a shame to lose an excellent U.S. senator like Kirsten Gillibrand. Trouble with Democrats is they haven't distanced themselves enough from the previous administration. The Republicans ran against President Jimmy Carter for 12 years.

It all seems rather hopeless. It's like watching the Grammy Awards and hoping someone would sing "Moon River."

Maybe next time after global warming and man sizzles away, God will stop with the dinosaurs. It might be distracting hearing dinosaurs bellowing in the woods all day, but it sure beats the heck out of listening to Joe Scarborough six hours a day.

Instead of all that, maybe someone will press America's restart button. Then we could have a nice period of progressive isolationism. Our money and brave soldiers brought home to revitalize our own economy and protect our borders. Tea Party people will put down their flutes and urge us to give 30 million Americans the dignity of having some kind of health insurance.

Sure, and Charlie Sheen's role on "Two and a Half Men" was based on my life.
