PLATTSBURGH — Patty Coloney hit a jump shot with 3 minutes, 6 seconds left in the game to give the Harrisville girls basketball team the lead for good as the Pirates topped undefeated Section 7 champion Westport 43-39 in a first-round game of the state Class D playoffs Wednesday at SUNY Plattsburgh.
Coloney's shot snapped a 35-35 all tie. She finished with 23 points for the Pirates (17-4 overall), who will play Section 2 champion Argyle (18-3) in a quarterfinal game at noon Saturday at Adirondack Community College in Queensbury.
Willa McKinley led Westport (20-1) with 17 points and Kalika Hopkins added 11.
Westport held a 32-28 lead after three quarters, but the Pirates outscored Westport 15-7 in the fourth quarter.

Taylor Keck and Shayna Russell each scored six points in the opening quarter as the Panthers (21-1) built an early 17-4 lead in a Class C first round game against Section 7's Ticonderoga at SUNY Plattsburgh.
Brushton-Moira will play Section 2's Maple Hill (22-0) in the quarterfinals.
Keck finished with 11 points, and Kelsey Manchester added 10 points. Both pulled down five rebounds apiece.
Jocelyn Barber led the Sentinels (9-12) with nine points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
CHATEAUGAY 49, CROWN POINT 39
Eli Franze scored 15 points to lead the Bulldogs (20-3) past Section 7's Crown Point in a Class D first-round game at SUNY Plattsburgh.
The Bulldogs will face Section 2 champion Germantown (18-4).
Jacob Layton added 12 points for the Bulldogs, who jumped out to an early 16-6 lead and never trailed. Alex Stalter grabbed 10 rebounds for Chateaugay.
John Budwick led Crown Point (16-6) with 22 points.
