State police accuse pair

of stealing car in October

MASSENA — State police on Friday charged Mark W. Premo Jr., 26, and Kristin R. Miller, 24, both of 9289 Route 56, Norfolk, with felony fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Ms. Miller additionally was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.

The two were arrested at 4:15 p.m. at 29 Stearns Road for allegedly stealing a 1996 Chevrolet Camaro from William Goodreau in October. The vehicle was recovered in Raymondville.

Mr. Premo was sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. Ms. Miller posted $2,000 bail.

Gouverneur man cited

with forcible touching

A Gouverneur man is summoned to town of LeRay Court to face a charge of forcible touching, a misdemeanor.

Richard J. Cronce, 21, County Route 24, Gouverneur, is accused of touching a woman's breast Dec. 14 at Taco Bell in the town of LeRay, according to state police. He was charged at 9:30 a.m. Thursday and additionally was charged with a violation of probation.

Pair accused of having

drugs valued at $25,000

Brittany L. Foster, 18, of 22632 Staplin Road, town of Rutland, and Ronald E. Codrington, 28, Scranton, Pa., were arrested Friday at Ms. Foster's home by members of the Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force and charged with one count each of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police said they recovered from the residence almost 8 ounces of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana, with a combined street value of about $25,000, and a multitude of drug paraphernalia.

Ms. Foster and Mr. Codrington were taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and held, Ms. Foster on $10,000 bail and Mr. Codrington on $25,000 bail.

Christopher L. Cuppernell, Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force administrator, said Saturday that the investigation is ongoing and that he expects more charges to be filed this week.

Police: Evans Mills man

had child pornography

EVANS MILLS — Fort Drum soldier Richard L. Coleman, 26988 Eldon Drive, was arrested by state police at 7 p.m. Friday at 25873 Route 37 in the town of LeRay and charged with possessing child pornography, a class E felony.

Police said he had numerous images of children under 16 engaging in sexual acts.

The complaint came from Mr. Coleman's landlords, Xicara and Frederick Hockenberry, also of 26988 Eldon Drive. Mr. Coleman lived at the residence with his wife.

He was issued an appearance ticket for LeRay Town Court and was released to the custody of military police.

Fire in Adams damages

garage and motorcycle

ADAMS — A garage at a residence at 90 E. Church St. in the village was moderately damaged by fire Saturday morning.

The Adams Fire Department responded to a report from a passerby about 8:15 a.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke coming out of the entrance to the garage, according to First Assistant Chief Allen W. Mullin.

The blaze was out within 10 minutes, he said. A motorcycle also was damaged. The homeowner, Richard L. Groff, arrived home while firefighters were still at the scene.

Man accused of fighting

at bar, punching officer

Justin Brown, 22, of 935 State St., was arrested by Watertown police at 12:51 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot behind Mick's Place, 204 Factory St., and charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree harassment and resisting arrest.

Police said he was trying to fight with two staff members at the bar and was being held back by a friend when an officer approached. Police said Mr. Brown punched the officer in the head, then fought with officers as they tried to arrest him. He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and released to the custody of military police.

Carthage-area teenager

shot in face with BB gun

FORT DRUM — A teenage girl suffered minor injury Friday night when her friend accidentally shot her in the face with a BB gun, according to Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy James J. Randall.

Deputy Randall said he responded to the report of a person injured as a result of shots fired about 10:45 p.m. at a residence on Lewis Avenue on post.

Two 15-year-old girls from the Carthage area were allowed to play with the gun at a residence, he said. The victim's family took her to Carthage Area Hospital for treatment.

DePeyster man charged

with endangering child

DEPEYSTER — Gerald H. Bennett, 36, of 4417 County Route 10, was charged Thursday with fourth-degree criminal mischief, child endangerment and second-degree harassment for allegedly tossing and breaking a plate while arguing with a woman who was feeding a baby, St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies said.

He was arraigned in Town Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $500 bail.

Police: Watertown man

stole 4 tires from woman

Kyle J. Messina, 25, of 826 Arsenal St., was arrested by Watertown police at 9:50 a.m. Friday at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and charged with petit larceny.

He is accused of stealing four vehicle tires worth $786 from Cristine S. Noftsier on Dec. 10 at 839 State St.

Police said they contacted Mr. Messina about the charge and he turned himself in.

Carthage man charged

with pushing a woman

OSWEGATCHIE — State police charged Randy P. Weller, 55, Carthage, with second-degree harassment at 4:35 p.m. Friday after he allegedly pushed a woman during an argument over money.

Police said Mr. Weller was arguing with April L. Hawkins at her home, 4448 County Route 6, because she would not give him money that her husband had agreed to pay Mr. Weller for a car.

Boy, 14, arrested at mall

MASSENA — A 14-year-old boy was charged with third-degree criminal trespass at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Lawrence Centre mall, state police said. He was banned from the mall after getting in a fight there March 5, according to troopers.
