Violet Kocanowski

Violet Mae Kocanowski, age 83 of Sackets Harbor, died Sunday afternoon at Mercy of Northern N.Y.

Violet was born March 17, 1926 in Watertown, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy Brown Burton. Violet graduated from Sackets Harbor High School.

Violet worked at Chesebrough Pond in Watertown making thermometers. She retired from there after working several years.

She is survived by 2 grandsons- Frank Newton of Adams Center and Brian Newton of Watertown and a granddaughter Rhonda Falton of Sackets Harbor. She also has a sister-in-law C. Beverly Burton of Sackets Harbor, several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son Charles Newton in 1992 and brothers Charles Burton and Frank Burton.

Funeral services will be held April 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with Fr. Walter Giles officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor. Calling hours will be on April 10th from 10:00- 11:00 a.m.
