Several people charged with drunken driving

The following people were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

■ Alton L. Kelly, 58, Brasher Falls, was charged Sunday with felony aggravated DWI and moving from lane unsafely after he was stopped on Route 37 in the town of Massena, state police said.

His blood alcohol content was 0.24 percent, troopers said. A BAC level of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or more.

Felony DWI is charged when the motorist has been convicted of DWI within the past 10 years. Mr. Kelly was charged with DWI on July 25 in the town of Brasher. His BAC was listed at 0.17 percent on that occasion.

■ Rick D. Tallman, 55, of 618 State St., Carthage, was arrested by state police at 10:20 p.m. Sunday on State Street in Carthage, and additionally was cited with unlawful possession of marijuana. He tested at 0.16 percent BAC, police said. Carthage Village Justice S. Lucille Shettleton set bail at $1,000, sending him to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building.

■ Scott W. Denny Jr., 27, of 16 Park Ave., Lacona, was charged by the Oswego County Sheriff's Department after his vehicle struck a tree about 11:50 p.m. Sunday on County Route 48 in the town of Richland. He was treated for undisclosed injuries at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse.

■ Kyle J. Dusharm, 24, of 23 Barr St., West Carthage, also was charged by Carthage police with driving while under the influence of drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, driving at a speed not reasonable or prudent and a seat belt infraction after his vehicle slammed into a utility pole shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday at Alexandria and Francis streets, police said. His BAC was 0.07 percent, they said.

■ Marsha L. Morrow, 61, Ogdensburg, was charged Tuesday after she was stopped on Route 812 in the town of Oswegatchie for allegedly crossing hazard markings, state police said. She registered a 0.11 percent BAC, they said.
