HENDERSON — Maxine O. Moore, 88, of Ballston Spa and formerly of Henderson, N.Y., died March 17, 2010 at the Eddy Village Green.

Born in Belfort, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Norah Frost Mitchell. She had been a homemaker, who in her early sixties returned to school to earn a nursing degree. While in Henderson, she served for 18 years on the school board, worked for the board of elections and was a member of the rescue squad. She joined the Ballston Spa Rescue Squad after moving there in 1979. She was a communicant of the Church of Saint Peter in Saratoga Springs and was the wife of the late Truman Moore.

Survivors include her loving children, Judith (James) Patterson, Jan Shields and Jeffrey (Nancy) Moore. She was the sister of Harry J. (Donna) Mitchell. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Marra Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. from the Church of Saint Peter. Internment will be in Ballston Spa Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-8 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff at Eddy Village Green for the love and care they gave to Maxine during her final months.
