Bouyer, Adams make all-state first team

Northern Athletic Conference Central Division rivals Gene Bouyer of Ogdensburg Free Academy and Zach Adams of Potsdam have been named to the Class B all-state boys basketball first team as chosen by the New York State Sportswriters Association.

Bouyer, a 6-foot-3 senior, averaged 20.4 points per game and was the Times NAC MVP for the second straight season. Adams, a 6-5 junior, averaged 15.7 points in helping the Sandstoners to the Section 10 crown and and a spot in the state Final Four.

Immaculate Heart Central junior Connor Caldwell, the leading scorer in Section 3 this season (31.6), was a fourth team selection in Class C. Senior Ryan Hanrahan of Thousand Islands and senior Josh Sevey from Brushton-Moira are on the seventh team in Class C.

In Class D. David Bullock of Edwards-Knox is on the fifth team. Hermon-DeKalb’s Jon Peters and Tyler Abbott from Belleville Henderson made the sixth team, while Zach D’Alessandro of Sackets Harbor and Ian Henderson from Chateaugay are on the seven team.

Watertown High School sophomore Dustin Pond was chosen for the ninth team in Class A.
