Francis named to conference team

Former Salmon River athlete Shawn Francis was named to the North Eastern Athletic Conference first team for men's lacrosse Friday.

Francis is a freshman attackman for SUNY Cobleskill. He ranks in the top 10 in NCAA Division III in both goals scored and total points. In 16 games, he has recorded 51 goals and 19 assists. His goal total was second in the nation heading into the weekend. He also has 54 ground balls.

SUNY Cobleskill ended its season Friday with an 8-5 loss to Morrisville State in the semifinals of the NEAC tournament in Morrisville. Cobleskill finished the season 6-11.
