South Lewis reaches state softball semifinal

Mackenzie Colwell connected for a two-run home run in South Lewis' 9-5 victory over Section 4's Binghamton Seton Catholic today in a state Class C softball quarterfinal at the Gillette Road complex in Cicero.
Abby Black added three singles for the Falcons (19-5).
South Lewis advanced to the state semifinal, scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday at Waterloo High School in Waterloo.
In a state Class B quarterfinal softball game in Binghamton, South Jefferson lost to Section 4's Chenango Valley 12-1.
