Fort Drum officer reassigned

A Fort Drum sergeant major will take over a new command at Fort Carson, Colo.

Sgt. Maj. Ralph F. Delosa, a 27-year Army veteran, was last assigned with the 3rd Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division.

He will take over Fort Carson's 2nd Brigade Combat Team from Sgt. Maj. Kenneth J. Barteau.

A command sergeant major is the highest noncommissioned officer rank in the Army and looks after the welfare of noncommissioned officers and enlisted personnel.
