Civilian worker found dead near mower on Drum road

FORT DRUM — A civilian employee of the Department of Logistics was pronounced dead Tuesday morning at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, after being found between a fence and a lawn tractor that he was operating. The incident occurred before 8 a.m. on Camp Hale Road.

The man's name is being withheld until 24 hours after the next of kin have been notified, in accordance with Department of Defense regulations.

Investigators from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division said they do not have any indications of foul play, but it has not yet been ruled out.
