COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Army says an Apache helicopter from Fort Drum made a hard landing in the Colorado mountains, injuring both pilots.

Officials say the injuries were not life-threatening, but no other details have been released, including the pilots' names.

They were taken to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.

The cause of the hard landing is under investigation.

The Army says the crew was practicing high-altitude flying before deploying to Afghanistan.

The helicopter is from the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division.
