Chris Ramie has been chosen as the new head women's basketball coach at Jefferson Community College.
Ramie, a General Brown and JCC graduate, succeeds Jen Williams, who held the JCC post for three years.
Williams went 24-48 during her tenure with the Cannoneers.
Ramie is no stranger to Jefferson's athletic programs. He spent last season as assistant men's basketball coach and the previous four seasons as assistant women's basketball coach for the Cannoneers. He has also coached JCC's golf team.
In addition to serving as assistant varsity softball coach at General Brown, Ramie is a fitness program educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County.
He holds an associate degree in liberal arts-mathematics and science from Jefferson. He also earned a bachelor of science in education with a concentration in physical education from the State University of New York at Cortland.
The Lady Cannoneers open the 2010-2011 season on Nov. 2 with a home game against North Country Community College.
