Graveside services for Helen E. Peer will be held for the convenience of the family in North Watertown Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.
Mrs. Peer, 95, formerly of Midtown Towers and Whispering Pines, died Tuesday at Mercy of Northern New York where she had been a resident for 2 years.
She was born in Watertown, May 17, 1915, one of eleven children to Harold and Elizabeth Smith Moulton. Mrs. Peer went to work at JJ Newberry's Department Store at age 16 and continued to be employed there until the store closed. She then went to work in the kitchen at Jefferson Community College, retiring from there. She attended Asbury United Methodist Church.
Helen married Clinton S. Peer, October 5, 1933 in Watertown. He died September 30, 1976.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Bearup and a son David Peer, both of Watertown. 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Two sons, Charles and Richard Peer, a grandson, Shane Peer, and 10 brothers and sisters predeceased her.
