Stone's goal trifecta powers Flyers in opener

OGDENSBURG — Andrew Stone scored three goals to lead the Norwood-Norfolk boys soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Morristown in a semifinal game of the Gerald Cring Tournament on Friday at Ogdensburg Free Academy.

The Flyers will face OFA in the championship at 8 tonight. Morristown plays Hammond in the consolation game at 6 p.m.

Ben Purvis scored the other goal for the Flyers, and Alex Ploof recorded two assists. Jeremy Waite made eight saves for the shutout.

OFA 8, HAMMOND 0

Grant Prudhomme scored three goals and assisted on another to lead the Blue Devils past Hammond in the second semifinal game of the tournament.

Gian Rufa added two goals for OFA, and Kyle Manke contributed one goal and three assists. Andy Rickett and Brent Lalonde also tallied goals.
