Dunn takes Can-Am feature

Billy Dunn of Watertown edged Justin Haers to win the DIRTcar big-block/small-block 30-lap modified feature Friday night at Can-Am Motorsports Park in LaFargeville.

Vinnie Vitale finished third in double points night in all divisions.

Brandon Hagan pulled away from Jamie Platt for the win in the 20-lap sportsman feature. Matt Hulsizer finished third. Lee Gill collected his ninth crate late model victory with Dean Patterson and Jordan Keruskie finishing in the top three.

Eli Gilbert pulled away from Phillip Walker and Taylor Caprara to win the 20-lap street stock feature. Caprara finished second and Sid Harmer Sr. was third. Zak Petrie battled Steve Malbouf and Chuck Monica for the lead in the thunder cars 15-lap feature with Petrie winning. Malbouf and Chuck Monica finished in the top three.

JJ Courcy won another IMCA modified 15-lap feature with Chris Thurston and Ryan Scott finishing second and third, respectively. Bryan Green won the mod lites 10-lap feature with Tiger Chapman and Johnny Chaulk rounding out the top three.

SYKES WINS FEATURE

Jeff Sykes of Edwards won his first Frenchie's Chevrolet DIRTcar 358-modified 25-lap feature of the season Friday night at Mohawk International Raceway in Akwesasne. Sykes held off two-time track champion Pat O'Brien of Kingston, Ontario. Todd Stewart finished third.

Ricky Thompson of Akwesasne caught Jody Swamp with eight laps to go to win the pro stocks 20-lap feature. Swamp finished second and Don Oakes took third.

Chris Raabe won his 13th DIRTcar sportsman feature of the year at the track. Dylan Evoy and Travis Black finished in the top three. Owen White won the 12-lap bandits feature with Derek Colbert and Peter Cename in the top three.

JOHNSON ENDS DROUGHT

Alan Johnson used his repaired big-block modified race car to win his second feature of the season Friday night at Brewerton Speedway. A few weeks before Friday's action, Johnson was involved in an accident that sidelined the No. 1J car. Johnson got by race leader Willy Decker on lap 22 and went on to win the 35-lap race. Matt Sheppard finished second and Decker captured third.

Other winners were: Gordy Button (late models); Rich Keller (IMCA modifieds); Chuck Powelczyk (super stocks) and Gary Jeffries (mod lites).
