Clarkson University has hired Max Prokopy to be the strength and conditioning coach for both its men's and women's ice hockey teams.

Prokopy will be Clarkson’s first strength coach and comes from Amherst College, where he had been director of strength and conditioning since Sept. 2008. He worked with 25 athletic teams at the school. From 2006-08 he was a graduate assistant in strength and conditioning at the University of Virginia

He has also served as a guest strength and conditioning coach for the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks.

“Max fills a significant need for our hockey program,” said Clarkson men's coach George Roll in a statement. “Strength and conditioning plays a significant role not only in the development of hockey players, but in their injury prevention as well. Max will work with our players on a daily basis and be vital in their overall training regime.”
