OFA, Heuvelton advance to tournament final

OGDENSBURG — Ogdensburg Free Academy regrouped from an early deficit to gain a 2-1 victory over Salmon River in the first round of the OFA Preseason Tournament on Monday in girls soccer.

OFA will meet Heuvelton for the title tonight, while Lisbon and Salmon River meet in the consolation game.

Chelsea Martin scored two breakaway goals in the second half as the Blue Devils overcame a 1-0 deficit. Salmon River had scored the game's first goal on a long shot by Karyss Terrance seven minutes into the second half.

Allysha Bracy made 11 saves for OFA.

HEUVELTON 3, LISBON 0

Sara Sloan scored a goal and set up another to lead Heuvelton to a 3-0 victory over Lisbon in the other first-round game of the tournament that also counted as a Northern Athletic Conference West Division game.

Sloan scored with 40 seconds left in the first half, then helped contribute to a goal by Alexis Weidner early in the second half. Wiedner added a second goal less than 16 minutes later. Sanna Jaquith recorded the shutout with four saves.
