OGDENSBURG — The St. Lawrence County Board of Elections struck down challenges to a candidate's petitions to run on the Taxpayers Party line Tuesday.

"Today is a small victory for all of the voters in the city of Ogdensburg who deserve a choice in this election," William R. Small said in a release.

Mr. Small, an Ogdensburg Republican, has served the last three years as a special city judge. He faces Mary E. Rain, a Potsdam lawyer running on the Republican and Independence Party lines, and Marcia L. LeMay, an Ogdensburg lawyer running on the Democratic Party ticket.

The sitting judge, George E. Silver, will retire in January.
