Stanley Pietroski, age 91 of Jericho Rd. Watertown, died Tuesday morning at Samaritan Medical Center.

Stanley was born September 9, 1918 in Watertown, the son of Anthony and Mary Pietroski. He graduated from Dexter High School. He served in the Army from 1942 until 1945 in the European -African-Middle Eastern Theatre where he received the Bronze Star.

On May 27, 1947 he married Frances A. Marra at St. Anthony's Church in Watertown by Rev. Henry McFadden. The couple lived in the Dexter area and Watertown, moved to Florida after he retired in 1987 and returned to the Jericho Road in 2002.

Stanley was a mechanic for NYS DOT and later worked at WWNY TV station where he worked in maintenance.

He was a member of Watertown Post 61 American Legion, Watertown VFW, Sackets Harbor and Jefferson County Fire Police.

He had been under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County, his son and daughter-in-law and his dog "Grizzly" kept him going.

He is survived by sons; Richard and Joyce Pietroski of Sackets Harbor, David and Frances Pietroski of Watertown and a daughter Mrs. Thomas (Lisa) Risch of Brooksville, Florida. He also has grandchildren Troy Pietroski and Courtney Brunet both of Sackets Harbor and a sister Annie Wernarcik of New Jersey also surviving.

He was predeceased by sisters Rosie Mosher and Helen Mosher.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 3:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery with military honors. Calling hours will be from 1-3 PM Thursday prior to the funeral. Donations are requested to Hospice of Jefferson County.
