Town of Lowville to check for code, zoning violations

LOWVILLE — Town officials plan to undertake a crackdown on code and zoning enforcement issues in the coming weeks.

Town and village Zoning Officer Kathy Manning said that she, the code enforcement officer and assessors will soon begin to actively seek violations such as building without a permit and failure to maintain property.

Building permits are typically required for new construction, as well as plumbing, electrical and heating system upgrades, Ms. Manning said.

"It's always just best to call," she said.
