Margaret M. Fein went to be to be with her Lord and Father on August 29, 2010. She succumbed to her battle with cancer surrounded by her husband and family at the home of her daughter, Diane Hupko in Sackets Harbor, NY.
Margaret was born on October 12, 1951 to Adrian and Peggy White of Cape Vincent, New York. She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, David H. Fein. She has four children from a previous marriage to James Hazlewood: Michael Hazlewood of Clayton, NY Christopher Hazlewood of Jacksonville, FL, Diane Hupko, with whom she lived with in Sackets Harbor, and Tammy Rivera of Vancouver, WA. She is also survived by three stepchildren, 12 grandchildren, 7 siblings, both of her parents, many beloved relatives and her closest friends.
Margaret lived her life to touch the lives of others. For some time, she worked as a nurse. Margaret was loved by the people she cared for. She spent several years working with terminally ill cancer patients as a private nurse and offered the kind of love and care that everyone deserved. She also worked as a nurse with Jefferson County Public Health.
She shared her artistic talents with the world through business ventures in wedding/party coordinating and floral arrangements. She never made a bouquet without something special included that made it personal to the recipient. It was those kinds of special touches that made her such a treasure to all who knew her.
Margaret spent the last several years assisting in raising her two beautiful granddaughters. She was well known for her generous heart and love of her children and all people and was always eager to open her home and her heart.
A memorial service will be held for family and close friends today at 2 p.m. at the property of Marty and Lorraine Herman, Route 177, 3 miles east of Barnes Corners, on the MacDonald Road (follow the posted signs). Following the service, there will be a gathering at the home of Diane Hupko, Burton Road, Sackets Harbor, New York 13685.
