Violet P. Reese

Violet P. Reese, 90, formerly of Weaver Rd., passed away late Tuesday afternoon, August 31st, at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home. At the time of her passing, she was in the loving care of her daughter, son-in-law and two sons.

The funeral will be Friday 2 p.m. at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Ryan from the Watertown Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. prior to the funeral on Friday. In lieu of lowers, the family requests donations are made to the Pine Meadows Wesleyan Church, Altmar, NY 13302, or a charity of one's choice.

Violet was born in Watertown, January 10, 1920, a daughter of William G. and Lena A. Peterson Anderson. She married Willard L. Reese, Christmas Day of 1941. Mr. Reese passed May 30, 1990. Violet lived in Watertown her entire life where she and her husband Willard raised their family.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and John Shawcross, Altmar. Two sons and their wives, David W. and Rhonda, Watertown; Robert G. and Linda Maasch, British Columbia. Seven grandchildren, Kris, Kraig and Diana Shawcross, Ryan and Matthew Reese, Jennifer and Gregory Reese; 10 great grandchildren, Morgan, Cameron, Janine, Logan, Karigan and Ethan Shawcross; Tyler and Katrina Sweet; Rowan Richard; and Samantha Reese. Two sisters, Beatrice Knight, Watertown; Norma Wallingford, Brewerton. Many nieces and nephews.

Violet was predeceased by her brother, Edward Anderson and two sisters, Vera Smith and Myrtle Elliott.
