The good news for the Alexandria is that coach Wayne Farrell has 10 returning players from a team that won one game last year.

The bad news is that he lost most of his backfield due to graduation and will have to rely on last year's modified players that are now sophomores to fill in the spots and gain some game experience this season.

Alexandria does have a proven quarterback in senior Aziel Snyder, who saw plenty of action last year. Senior Tyler Papin is being counted on to help replace the one-two punch of Josh Slocum and Vincent Hoover. Senior Brandon Chaltain is also a backfield hopeful.

On the line, the Purple Ghosts will count on seniors Andrew Cole and Brandon Hagan until the young kids come along.

Alexandria is playing as a Class C school for a fourth straight year because of its collaboration with LaFargeville. If schools combine for a sport, they must add both of their enrollments. However, only one LaFargeville player is on this year's Alexandria roster.
