Clarkson blanks SUNY Canton for debut victory

CANTON — Alyssa Dausman and Linde Zajac scored first-half goals to lead the Clarkson University women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over SUNY Canton in a nonconference game Wednesday. It was the opening game for both squads.

Dausman scored an unassisted goal in the seventh minute, and Zajac converted on a pass from Catlyn Hennessey six minutes later. Stephanie Collins made one save for the shutout as Clarkson outshot the Kangaroos 15-4.

MEN'S SOCCER

JEFFERSON CC 2, ADIRONDACK CC 1

Ben Freeman scored both goals, including the game-winner in the 75th minute, as the Cannoneers opened their season with a Region 3 home victory.

Scott Kellner and Luke Norman contributed assists for JCC, while goalie Brandon Davis made eight saves.
