WOODVILLE — Genevieve W. Kavanaugh, 93, of 5849 County Route 120, passed away on September 2, 2010, at her home.
Born July 14, 1917 in Fulton, NY, she was adopted by John and Flossie White of Philadelphia, NY. A graduate of Philadelphia School and the Mercy School of Nursing, she worked as a registered nurse at Potsdam Hospital.
On April 16, 1939 she married Gerald L. Kavanaugh, they lived in Adams, then they purchased the red brick house in Woodville in 1947.
She worked at Mercy Hospital, then served as Postmaster of the Woodville Post Office.
She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law; Mary and Jim Fulkerson, Ann and Peter Trowbridge, Gerry Lynn Brown, and Betty and Jim Stockwell; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and five nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Genevieve Fisher.
A private service was held. Arrangements were with the Carpenter-Stoodley funeral home, Belleville.
