Cynthia Morrison Fearon, 68, Mullin St., passed away Sunday at her home.
She was born in Watertown, January 18, 1942, a daughter of Corydon Horne and Grace Revell Morrison. She graduated from Watertown High School and attended Canton ATC and the University of Miami. Cynthia was a lifelong resident of Watertown, spending summers as a youth on Bass Island off Campbell's Point, Sackets Harbor, and in later years on Lyndoch Island on the St. Lawrence River. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Mayflower Society and the D.A.R..
Cynthia was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the City of Watertown for heroism at the May 1993 fire at her Morrison Family home on Mullin St. in which she saved the lives of three people, to include her daughter Rena.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jason Morrison Fearon and D. Elizabeth Fearon, Fuquay-Varina, NC, their children James and Scarlett; A daughter and son-in-law, Rena and David Fearon Kandler, Watertown and their children, William Fearon Kandler and Henry Morrison Kandler. A step daughter and her husband, Deborah Peterson and Gareth Evans, Australia and their children, Calida and Saxon Evans. A brother, Thomas Gorman, Watertown. She was predeceased by her husband, Calvin C. Fearon and her companion, Brian C. Cole.
The memorial service will be Friday 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Fred Garry, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 pm - 7 pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or to the SPCA.
