Joseph Sampson

Joseph E. Sampson, 80, of the Jericho Road, died Monday afternoon in the Samaritan Medical Center.

He was born September 12, 1929 in Camden the son of James E. and Minnie Sampson. He has been married to Marion Claflin for nearly sixty years. He had worked for several dairy farms in the Jefferson County area before his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Marion; 8 of 9 children; 30 grandchildren; and 39 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

A graveside service will be Friday, September 10th, at 11:00 AM in Woodside Cemetery, Belleville. Calling hours will be Thursday, September 9th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville.
