James F. Signor, 75, 1330 Richards Dr., Watertown, NY, died September 7, 2010 at his home where he was under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday Sept. 10th at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday Sept. 9th at the funeral home. An Elks service will begin at 7 p.m.

Born November 24, 1934 in Dexter, NY, son of Earl and Pauline Dodge Signor he graduated from Hounsfield Central School.

Mr. Signor worked for Western Electric as an electronics technician before working at Marine Midland Bank. He worked there for 36 years starting in the mail room, as a teller, an auditor, and retiring in 1991 as the Branch Manager in Adams.

He married Dolores Mills, of Watertown, on September 7, 1957 at Our Lady of the Scared Heart Church.

He was an Honorary Life Member of the Watertown Elks Lodge #496 for 49 years, Exalted Ruler from 1984-1985, and treasurer for several years.

He served on the board for the Jefferson County Fair for 52 years and was the treasurer for several years. He was a member of Rotary in Adams, the Power Squadron, and was a driver at the volunteer center.

Among his survivors are his wife Dolores A., Watertown; two daughters and a son in law, Paula S. and Stephen A. Stempien, and their children Ryan and Stefany, E. Amherst, NY, Charlene L. Colwell, Watertown; two sons and daughter in laws, Kevin J. And Patricia V. Signor and their children, Shawn and Brittany, Watertown, Patrick A. and Julie S. Signor and their children David and Jordan, Watertown; two brothers and a two sisters in law, Gary and Charlotte Signor, NH, Gene and Sharon Signor, Cortland; a sister, Ellen Nagy, Columbus, OH; 6 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A son in law, Michael Colwell and a brother in law, Gene Nagy died before him.
