Herbert DeShane

RAYMONDVILLE — Herbert H. DeShane age 60, formerly of Raymondville and, Syracuse, passed away Tuesday September 7th at the Northwoods Rehab and Extended Care Facility in Cortland, where he had been a resident for the past 2 years.

Mr. DeShane served in the US Navy and was a Vietnam veteran.

He worked in the retail business, having been an employee of Charney's in Syracuse for 18 years.

Mr. DeShane enjoyed outdoor cooking and entertaining for his friends. His love of his Siamese cats was a comfort and enjoyment to him.

Mr. DeShane was predeceased by his father Jerry and a sister June (Hill). He is survived by his mother Elizabeth (Betty) DeShane of Chase Mills, a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Jo Ann of Franklinton N.C., an uncle Sterling (Gloria) Trimm of Stockholm, along with many nieces and nephews. A special thanks is due to his friends Bob and Colleen Seeloff of Syracuse, especially for all their care and help during Mr. DeShane's illness.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a time to be determined.
