MP from 10th Mountain named Soldier of the Year

FORT DRUM — Spc. Thomas Hauser of the 563rd Military Police Company, 91st Military Police Battalion, 10th Mountain Division, was named the Army’s Soldier of the Year-Best Warrior of 2011.

Spc. Hauser competed against 12 other soldiers, each representing the other Army Commands, during the first week in October.

The competition is based on a variety of skills that tested physical fitness, urban warfare orienteering and drills to test soldiers’ aptitude outside of their primary military occupational skill.

Spc. Hauser is a native of Colerain Township in southwest Ohio.
