Former Watertown High School and Syracuse University basketball player Matt Gorman has signed to play for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Steamers of the Premier Basketball League, the team announced on Tuesday.

Scranton (3-2) sits in second place in the minor league’s Eastern Division, which includes teams from Rochester, Dayton, Charleston and Lake Michigan.

The 6-foot-10 Gorman was a member of the 2000-01 Cyclones team that won the Section 3 Class A title, the school’s first since 1950. He played on the first Syracuse team to win an NCAA championship in 2002-03.

Gorman also spent time playing professionally in Europe, most recently with the Sheffield Sharks of the British Basketball League.
