Dolores B. DeSalvo, 62, of Lowville, NY died after her two year battle with breast cancer on January 21, 2012 in Inverness, FL. Dolores was born on April 13, 1949 in Passaic, NJ, the daughter of Jacob and Margaret Bielski. She graduated from William Paterson University of Wayne, N.J., and taught at the Sacred Heart Parochial School in Clifton, NJ before moving to Lowville, NY. Dolores was the manager and Nutrition Community Educator of the ESNY Program for the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Lewis County. She was also the manager for the Lowville Farmers Market for many years. She was the local gardening expert and the Gardening Guru on the local radio station, “The Moose” with her program, “How Green Is My Garden”. Dolores was Roman Catholic.

Survivors include her husband Peter W. DeSalvo of Lowville, NY; three sons, Christopher W. DeSalvo of Lowville, NY, Peter “P.J” DeSalvo of Ithaca, NY and Stephen M. DeSalvo of Rochester, NY; sister, Dorothy DeFino of Port St. Lucie, FL; brother Daniel J. Bielski of Fraser, CO; nieces, Kelly and Tracy; nephews, Jeremy and Christopher.
