POTSDAM — A shot by Felix Llanos at the buzzer went in and then out of the net and the St. Lawrence University men’s basketball team held on for a 56-53 win over Clarkson in a Liberty League game Tuesday night.

The win avenged a loss earlier in the season to Clarkson for the Saints (11-8 overall, 7-4 conference).

Ralph Temgoua led SLU with a 16-point effort. He also grabbed nine rebounds.

Llanos and Jerry Coleman each scored 12 points for the Golden Knights (13-5, 6-3) and Nate Uline tossed in 10.

SUNY NEW PALTZ 64, SUNY POTSDAM 53

Matt Devine scored 19 points and snagged 11 rebounds to lead SUNY New Paltz (8-10, 5-7) past the Bears in a SUNYAC game in Potsdam.

Harris Wichard scored 16 points for the Hawks. Tony Efese led the Bears (4-15, 2-10) with 19 points and Curtis Pierce produced 13 for the Bears.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

ST. LAWRENCE 65, CLARKSON 54

Kara McDuffee and Adriana Spicer each scored 12 points to help the Saints (15-4, 11-0) remain undefeated in the Liberty League with a win over Clarkson in Potsdam.

Casey Capello added 10 points for SLU. Brooke Butkovsky led Clarkson (7-10, 2-7) with 14 points and Raeanne Clabeaux scored 12 points. Carey Turner tossed in 10 for the Golden Knights.

SUNY NEW PALTZ 86, SUNY POTSDAM 65

Alex McCullough scored 23 points and Maliqua Fisher added 21 points as the Hawks (11-8, 9-3) routed SUNY Potsdam in a SUNYAC contest in New Paltz.

Shanay Bradley added 10 points and 11 rebounds for SUNY New Paltz. Chenice Russell led the Bears (4-15, 2-10) with 11 points and Katy Briedis and Kaley Arsenault each scored 10.
