A Watertown woman driving Thursday morning from her Flower Avenue East home had obstructed view because of her frosted windshield and struck a bollard protecting the Roswell Flower monument at Washington and Stone streets, according to city police.

Gabriella J. Jones, 31, of 113 Flower Ave. E., complained of head pains following her 6:40 a.m. accident, police said, and was taken by Guilfoyle Ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center for examination.

Police said she was driving north on Washington Street, en route to her place of employment, when she slowed to about 10 mph as she approached a red traffic light. She pulled to the left, where her sport utility vehicle jumped a concrete barrier and struck the bollard, police said. The vehicle then flipped onto its passenger side.

The vehicle airbag did not deploy, probably due to her slow speed, an officer said.

City firefighters used a hydraulic tool to remove her from the vehicle.

She will be cited with driving while having obstructed view, police said.
