MASSENA — The board of directors of the Massena Museum, 200 E. Orvis St., will search for a new town historian after Karen B. Coia resigned two weeks ago.

Ms. Coia, who is a nurse at St. Regis Nursing Home, said it was a difficult decision, but she was unable to devote the amount of time necessary to the museum because of her other work commitments.

Ms. Coia was hired last year after the retirement of longtime Historian Theresa Sharp, who had served in that role for 22 years.

Museum board President David D. Zappia said the board will look for someone who has a “little bit of a background” in history as well as computer skills to fill the part-time job.
