LOWVILLE — A Lowville doctor and his staff recently received an award for tobacco cessation excellence.

The Tobacco Cessation Center of Northern New York presented a plaque to Dr. Manoj R. Vora, who practices internal medicine at Lewis County General Hospital, North State Street.

The center and Dr. Vora’s office began working together several years ago to implement a systematic approach to tobacco cessation, according to a release from the county-owned hospital.

The center promotes smoking cessation across the region.
