Jailed woman faces added charge in Watertown

Gretchen L. Larson, 38, an inmate of the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building since Dec. 26, was cited Monday at the jail by city police with petit larceny.

Ms. Larson, an ex-convict who listed a Lowville address when arrested in December, is accused in the new charge in the alleged shoplifting of beer priced at $26 on Dec. 6 at Kinney Drugs, 905 Coffeen St., police said.

Her jailing was on a parole violation and another petit larceny count, involving a $898 alleged shoplifting on Nov. 24 at Home Depot.

Ms. Larson was discharged from a state prison on Nov. 2 after serving nearly seven months of a term for second-degree forgery.
