CANTON A former SUNY Potsdam student has been indicted on 25 counts of possessing and sharing movies that included sexual performances by children under 17 years of age.
A St. Lawrence County grand jury handed up an indictment Tuesday charging Edward Torres, 20, listing an address of Knowles North 121, Potsdam, at the time of his arrest, with seven counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and 18 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
The child pornography incidents reportedly occurred on March 26 and May 8, according to the indictment.
Other indictments handed down by the grand jury Tuesday:
Joshua F. Jock, 32, of 211 Route 72, Apt. B, Potsdam, on a felony count of driving while intoxicated .
He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.17 percent when he was stopped by police June 28 on Market Street, Potsdam. He has an Oct. 19, 2005, conviction from Potsdam Village Court.
Tammy L. White, 47, of 387 Frogtown Road, Hogansburg, on a felony count of aggravated DWI. She reportedly had two children under the age of 15, including a 2-year-old, in her vehicle when she was stopped by state police July 3 on Route 37C in the town of Massena. She reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.10 percent.
Donald J. LaValley, 61, of 107 South Grasse River Road, Massena, on a felony count of DWI.
He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.10 percent when he was stopped by police March 23 on Route 56 in the town of Norfolk. He has a March 9, 2011, misdemeanor DWI conviction from Potsdam Village Court.
